D'Swarte Walvis (The Black Whale) is housed in three monumental buildings among the windmills by the river Zaan, about 15 minutes from Amsterdam. We welcome groups every day for lunch, high tea and drinks, in historic rooms full of stories. Our set menus for groups are easy to plan, so your programme stays on schedule.

Private rooms for 10 to 120 guests, from the intimate Regentenkamer to the Terrace on the Zaan.
EASY TO REACH
Less than 20 minutes by train from Amsterdam Central to Zaandijk Zaanse Schans, or arrive by boat at our own jetty. Open daily from 12:00 to 17:00, outside these hours on request.

Delft Blue Room (Weesmeesterkamer): 40 to 100 guests, first floor
Windmill Panorama Room (Commandeurskamer): 9 to 50 guests, first floor
Terrace on the Zaan: 70 to 120 guests
The rooms on the first floor are only reachable by stairs; the building has no lift.
